Noxidox on iPhone-Ticker.de: A Small Indie App Is Gaining Attention

There are moments in the development of your own app that feel a little bit special.

For me, one of those moments was when Noxidox was mentioned on iPhone-Ticker.de. In the article titled “New Indie Apps: Small Developers Make a Comeback,” the Apple magazine showcases various new apps from independent developers, and Noxidox is among them.

Small Developers, Big Ideas

What I particularly like about the article: It’s not just about the next big app or a product from an established company. Instead, the focus is on a whole range of small, independent projects. Apps built by individual developers or small teams that often solve very specific problems.

This is exactly the environment where I see Noxidox fitting in.

Noxidox was born from the idea of not just storing documents on the iPhone, but actually being able to work with them. Instead of searching through long PDFs or multiple documents, you should be able to simply query your documents using natural language. The key point here: Processing should take place directly on the device.

Apple Intelligence Meets Private Documents

To achieve this, Noxidox combines a local RAG system with Apple’s new on-device AI. Documents are imported, processed, and stored in a format optimized for search. Users can then ask questions about their own documents or have the content summarized. From the very beginning, it was important to me not to simply build yet another AI chatbot. The documents should remain private. No mandatory cloud storage, no tracking, and no usage limits. Noxidox runs directly on the Apple device, including AI processing and voice input. It is precisely this combination of RAG, Apple Intelligence, and consistent data protection that I see as the true core of Noxidox.

From the Idea to the Finished App

Noxidox isn’t a project by a software company, but rather a classic indie app. That also means that a lot of personal effort goes into a project like this—from the initial idea through development and design all the way to the App Store, marketing, and support. That’s exactly why I’m especially happy when an app not only makes it to the App Store but is actually discovered by people. So for me, the mention on iPhone-Ticker.de is more than just a small link on the internet. It’s a nice confirmation that the idea behind Noxidox is interesting enough to be noticed even outside my own circle.

A small step—and at the same time, a big boost to motivation

For me, this article also beautifully illustrates why I continue to find indie development so exciting. You don’t necessarily need a large team, a huge budget, or a comprehensive product strategy to bring your own idea to life. With today’s development tools and the capabilities of modern on-device AI, even individual developers can create sophisticated applications. Noxidox is my attempt to do just that. And the journey is far from over. In addition to further developing the retrieval system, I already have more ideas on my list, including greater specialization of projects, additional file formats, and further integrations into the Apple ecosystem.

Thanks to iPhone-Ticker.de

Many thanks to the team at iPhone-Ticker.de for including Noxidox in their current selection of indie apps. For a small, independent app, this kind of attention is by no means a given—and it’s a great motivation to keep developing Noxidox. If you’d like to try Noxidox for yourself, you’ll find the app in the Apple App Store soon.

Noxidox – your documents. Your AI. Your data.
